abiding together in 1 JOHN

This winter and spring we are abiding together in 1 JOHN. Written by the apostle John later in his life, this letter encourages us to make our home with God—to ABIDE in Him together. John writes as a spiritual father, encouraging his “beloved children” to know the love of God for life in Christ.

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. — 1 John 4:14-16

We invite you to join us for Sunday worship. At the church, there are nursery and children’s ministry (pre-K to 3rd/4th grade) available in the house adjacent to the sanctuary. A greeter can assist you with any questions you may have. On the main level of the sanctuary, every other pew is roped off. In the balcony, chairs are spaced. There are some who wear masks and others who do not during the service. For those at home, we provide a livestream of the service.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God… In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. — 1 John 4:7,9
