  • Mercy – We see God’s mercy to his people in these narratives, such as the multiplication of oil to widows (1 Kings 17:8-16; 2 Kings 4:1-7) and God’s care for Elijah underneath the broom tree (1 Kings 19:1-8). We need God’s mercy for this day.
  • Power – We see God’s power in these narratives, such as drought in the land (1 Kings 17:1; 18:41), raising from the dead (1 Kings 17:17-24; 2 Kings 4:18-37) and the match on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18). We need God’s power for this day.
