Through this winter in our City Groups and Sunday worship, in the first season as a merged church, we are going to read, study, meditate and live out Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Click HERE for our winter reading plan.
In this friendship letter from prison, Paul exhorts us to live a life worthy of the gospel (1:27), looking to the interests of others like Christ (2:4-5ff), counting all things a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus our Lord (3:8), rejoicing always (4:4) …. and together shining as lights in the world (2:15). Paul writes with great affection for this church and with great joy in the Lord, and so it is our pray that our love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
