Advent 2017

The celebration of Advent – which means “coming” or “arrival.” It helps focus our attention on Jesus first coming in humility, His birth, ministry, death and resurrection,  as well as His second coming in glory.

Advent is celebrated on the four Sundays before Christmas to our Christmas Eve service. In these worship gatherings, children and adults will lead us in readings, candle lightings and prayer as we reflect upon Christ’s coming. During this season, we also will be reading Exodus 1-3, Matthew 2 and Revelation 12 in a sermon series, Salvation In A Hostile World.

Sunday morning, 10:00 a.m., December 3 – Hostility: God Knows Our Strife

Sunday morning, 10:00 a.m., December 10 – Preservation: God is in Control

Sunday evening, 5:00-6:00 p.m., December 24 – a candlelight service of Scripture reading and songs

“And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
    are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for from you shall come a ruler
