Less and less we are word-based. More and more we are image-saturated with emojis, social media, streaming video, and virtual reality. Less and less we are truth-defined. More and more we are image-seeking, more concerned with others’ perceptions of us than God’s purposes for us.
Given all of this, what does the truth of God’s Word say about image? What is the image of God… or better asked, who? In these four weeks, we will look to the Scriptures to see the true image of God – the Lord Jesus Christ… and then identity and destiny in him.
- Sunday, Nov. 5 – CREATION Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
- Sunday, Nov. 12 – COVENANT Exodus 34:14 for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God… Psalm 97:7 All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boast in worthless idols;
- Sunday, Nov. 19 – CHRIST Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
- Sunday, Nov. 26 – CONFORMITY Romans 8:29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
If you are curious about the Christian faith, if you are without a church home, or especially if you are worn out in the grind of life, we invite you to visit Citylight.

Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust,
we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:49
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.
2 Corinthians 3:18
