Maundy Thursday Service

On the night in which he would be betrayed, the night before his crucifixion, the Lord Jesus gathered with his disciples to share a meal, to serve them, and to teach them. “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-35). Maundy Thursday, derived from the the Latin word mandatum meaning “commandment,” is a time to gather in worship of God, remembering Christ’s sacrificial and saving love to us.
This year Citylight gathers once again with other churches for a combined Maundy Thursday service of Scripture reading and Communion together. Participating churches include Westminster Presbyterian Church (host), Wellspring Presbyterian Church, Grace Church, Christ the King Presbyterian Church and Citylight Church.
