the letter to Titus

. . . for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth,

which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life . . .

Titus 1:1-2

Jesus is risen from the grave! This good news is radiating across the countryside and over waters so that many believe and gather as new churches. The apostle Paul had completed a journey to the Mediterranean island of Crete and left Titus to lead and care for the fledgling churches there.

In March, we looked to God’s vision for the church – unity, maturity and fullness, but now into the spring, we turn to this short letter to Titus to see how this is embodied in the mission of the church – in leadership, discipleship, and everyday living.

If you are curious about the Christian faith, or if you are without a church home, we invite you to visit Citylight.

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,

he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness,

but according to his own mercy,

by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior

Titus 3:4-6
